Good Tough Phone
I have had lots of different phones over the years but find that they do not last and are quite flimsy. I finally bought a Tuff 400s but was worried that it might be heavy and bulky. It is not, it feels no different to other phones in size and weight but is a lot sturdier. I work in agriculture so the phones is subject to some challenging conditions of wet and being knocked about, the last time it dropped while I was moving sheep and got trampled by 30 sheep and lambs, a quick rinse and rub over no sign of damage and worked ok. The company are good to deal with, helpful on the phone and quick to process the order and delivery. Very satisfied.
Having got through Blackberry's, Nokia Windows phone and 3 x Samsung Galaxy's over the last 6 years I was recommended by a friend to the TUFF T400s. TUFF Phones have been excellent in their advice. Am now the proud owner of a T400s and must say first impressions are excellent. Very easy to use. Looks extremely rugged. Lets hope for a few years of service from it...
Well Impressed with the T400s
In the past I have had mobile phones from Nokia, an IPhone 6s, and recently a Nokia Lumia 650 Windows Phone... that died as a result of being hit by a 340g jar of honey falling out of a cupboard onto it... Having shopped around I found the TUFF Phones T400s... yes, it was at the top of the scale of the money I wanted to pay for a sim-free mobile phone, but compared top other mobiles the price was very affordable... I ordered the phone on-line (via Tesco Direct) and got it two days later... Immediately, out of the box I was impressed with its build quality, and this is reflected in its weight, which was I estimate twice the weight of my defunct Windows phone, but not so heavy that I noticed any difference after an hours use... It arrived with a charge in the battery of about 40% of full...enough to get you started...
I found this phone, which runs on Android, self intuitive, and easy to use considering I have never had a phone that operated on the Android operating system before, and found it nice and easy to add my email and social media accounts, and get up and running in no time at all... The only bug-bears I had with the phone were installing the sim card and Micro SD card into the phone. They are installed by opening a external 'pull-out' tab on the robust casing, using a small tool to release the 'pop-out' tray they sit in, and pulling this out of the phone...the big issue was really my chunky fingers and the tiny size of the sim and micro SD card...and i had a few minutes trying to get this sorted and the tray that holds them re-inserted into the phone slot, but once this was done, it was all system go...
If I had any issues with the T400s it would be that the information you get with the phone - a 'quick start' guide, has pretty minimal information in it...just the basics to get you up and running, but having said that they do provide a link in the quick-start guide to their website, from where you can download a user manual. So, this I did, only to be a bit disappointed with this as well...but I emailed TUFF Phones and they responded the following day with an answer to resolve an issue I discovered with the speakerphone whilst trying to use it (which basically boiled down to my own stupidity and not being used to the Android system), and to advise that following my email they were uploading a much more detailed user manual to their website... so top marks to TUFF Phones all around.
I am really pleased with this phone...not only can you improve storage with inserting a large micro SD card, on which, like other types of phone you can save apps and files and photos etc (thereby keeping you on-board storage relatively low to improve speed etc), It has a nice bright screen with no issues in respect of outdoors use, and is built well, dust and water proof, so it can stand up to my site visits and working environment, and is so easy to use, and very fast in operation compared to some of the previous phones I have owned... So this T400s gets my vote and recommendation to others... so next time you want a quality (BRITISH) mobile phone, buy one of these...
