The new RugGear RG600 tough phone has just been announced

We're big fans of the RugGear handsets here at Tuffphones, they're robust, look the part and have great functionality.

Plus, with a great range of devices; from simple rufty-tufty dumbphones to high-tech (and almost sentient!) smartphones RugGear have something for everyone.

Well our love for Rugear is about to get bigger as the new RugGear RG600 has just been announced and is available from next week.

The new RugGear RG600 smart toughphone

The new device is boasting a large 3600 mAh battery that will help to keep you connected during the day, wherever you go with it's standby time of up to 450 hours and talk-time of up to 480 minutes.

As this is a tough phone you can expect the RG600 to be capable of taking some punishment and this device is the proud owner of the MIL-STD 810G certification. Usually awarded to products that are designed for military use, the MIL-STD 810G certification shows that the RG600 can withstand drops from heights of up to 2 meters onto concrete and can tolerate; constant vibrations, exposure to humid environments and varying temperature fluctuations.

Also the RugGear RG600 is certified with an IP68 rating, which means that this device can survice being submerged at depths of up to 2 meters for 30 minutes - hopefully more than enough time for you to fish it out!

The device itself is running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor with 1GB RAM which should ensure that the device is running smoothly and remains responsive for many years to come.

A 4.5" RugDisplay Glass screen adorns the front of the device and with it's 480x854 resolution text, videos and imagery all look great.

There is an 8MP rear facing camera with flash for those on-the-job photos and a 5MP front facing snapper for those down-the-pub 'selfies'.

Storage also needn't be a worry with this device with it's 4GB internal storage, and with the addition of a MicroSD Card slot that supports cards up to 32GB in size you can expand the onboard storage whenever you need to.

With stock being made available from the beginning of next week, the new device will be availabe SIM Free, on contract and upgrade.
