O2 customers experiencing mobile signal outage across the UK
O2 customers were left without mobile signal across the UK yesterday after the network admitted to experiencing some 'intermittent network issues'.
Thousands of customers took to social media to express their irritation at being left uncontactable with the network advising that customers reboot their devices by turning them off and then on again if experiencing outages.
O2's 'Live Checker' service blamed the issues customers were facing on mast problems with London, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow and some areas of Northern Ireland being effected.
Many customers stated that they had been unable to make calls, send or receive texts or access 3G data for nearly 5 hours and were understandably unhappy about it.
This morning O2 stated that service had returned to normal at 23:35 BST on Monday 25/05/2015 and that all service should have recovered and be working as normal. It appears however that this issue may not have been fully resolved with customers continuing to complain to O2 via Twitter about lack of service.
Customers of Teco Mobile and GiffGaff also reported that they were experiencing a lack of coverage, hardly suprising as both MNVOs piggyback off the O2 network infrastructure.
O2 announced via Twitter that 'We're working flat out (and upright too) to get these fixed. Sorry for the problems'.
They also added ‘our engineers are beavering away and working to fix ASAP.'
