EE finishes first in 4G speed tests
According to a recent OpenSignal mobile network report EE has recorded the highest average 4G download speeds compared against the other UK networks.
The report was carried out between June 1 and Aug 31 this year and took data from 51,944 consumer devices with the OpenSignal app installed.
With an average of 29Mbps EE clocked up he fastest speeds, although this figure has dropped slightly from the 31.8Mbps speeds EE was offering six months ago.
In second place was Three offering 22.3Mbps, Vodafone with 18.8Mbps came third and O2 trailed behind with 15Mbps.
In OpenSignal’s reports from six months ago EE was the only network to cross the 70 per cent 4G availability threshold, this has been improved six months down the line to 78.46 per cent.
O2 currently offers 74.17 per cent 4G availability, Vodafone stands at 71.35 per cent and Three only offers 57.14 per cent.
EE has won an OpenSignal award in all categories; 4G download speeds, 3G download speeds, overall download speed, 4G latency, 3G latency and 4G availability.
Vodafone won awards for 4G and 3G latency, Three had a win for 3G download speed and O2 won no awards at all.
