Corning Gorilla Glass 4 Launched
Many of us will agree that the display is quite possibly the most important part of a tough smartphone, we spend most of our time interacting with them. If we're not looking at them for notifications, we're prodding them with our digits to text, surf the net and call our friends and family, not to mention view videos and take photos.
We've all felt that pang of dissapointment that comes with retrieving a fallen handset only to discover a myriad of thin spider-web like strands strewn across the front of our device. Nobody enjoys having a cracked screen.
This is why many handset manufacturers have adopted the use of the fantastically tough Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screens on their devices, hopefully to help reduce the chance of a busted screen if unfortunately dropped.
It's this durability that has ensured the use of Gorilla Glass on more than 3 billion devices worldwide and with each new release the glass gets tougher and the adoption rates across various devices rises.
Corning have just announced the release of their 4th generation of tough glass, and to go with it they've released a short animated video to herald the announcement - helping to show the usefulness of having a tough screen on your mobile devices.
