Meet the Casio WSD-F10 rugged smartwatch
Popular watch manufacturer Casio have announced a rugged Android Wear smartwatch at CES 2016.
The new smartwatch named the Casio WSD-F10 has a MIL-STD 810G rating, is water resistant up to 50 meters and has been tested against shocks, solar radiation, altitude and humidity - this truly is the Bear Grylls of smartwatches.
Sporting a 1.32-inch color TFT LCD display that displays information from the built-in apps, the buttons are large and have a slip-free finish which will help using them with wet hands or while wearing gloves.
The wristband is made from soft urethane plastic that conforms to the wrist and can be comfortably worn for extended periods, great when out in the wild.
Also included is a series of dedicated apps for outdoor activities such as trekking, cycling, and fishing, coming preloaded with popular apps like ViewRanger, MyRadar and Runkeeper to help get you started - as can be seen in the short promotional video below.
Looking set to launch in the US with a price tag of $500 there has been no word yet as to whether we'll see a UK release for this rugged smartwatch, however we certainly hope it does reach UK shores.
