Virgin Media and BT sign five-year MVNO deal
Virgin Media has signed a new five-year deal with BT that will see the telecoms provider continue its work as an MVNO.
The new agreement will cover both voice and data services and is set to run until 2021. Both EE and BT are to provide Virgin Media with wholesale services.
Virgin Mobile CEO Peter Kelly has commented on the new agreement, "This winning combination with EE will give Virgin Mobile even more control and firepower to deliver innovative services to the UK mobile market. Virgin Mobile customers want fast speeds, flexibility and plans packed full of data – we’re going to continue to deliver."
BT Wholesale and Ventures CEO Gerry McQuade also commented saying, "This has proven a successful relationship for both parties for many years. As the largest wholesale provider of telecommunications services in Europe, BT values the economy of scale that Virgin Media brings to our network."
