Anywhere Sim to provide Norfolk County Council with 4,500 mobile connections
Telecommunications service provider Anywhere Sim have won a four year deal that will see them provide Norfolk County Council with 4,500 mobile connections.
The MVNO secured the deal through its wholly-owned Capita subsidiary Updata who hold the new contract with the County Council.
Anywhere Sim are a national roaming MVNO who can provide roaming across the EE, O2 and Vodafone networks, thus enabling customers to send and receive calls and texts anywhere that is covered by those networks.
Anywhere SIM CEO Matthew Wright has not commented on the new deal but has said, "Since we launched in late 2015 we have seen enormous demand for our solution to the ongoing ‘not spot’ problem. Initially this was from consumers but the proposition has quickly transcended into commerce and most recently the public sector – where the direct benefits are particularly big."
Wright also added, "The majority of UK councils and local government will be fully aware of the issues presented by gaps in mobile signal and the impact this can have on the provision of important local services. This issue is pan-UK and applies to both urban and rural areas, especially with regard to lone workers."
