A Game of Phones
With Season 4 of Game of Thrones finally finished, we've decided to take a look at some of the most popular mobile handsets on the market today and see which ones would be used by the characters.
One of the most popular characters to grace the lands of Westeros is Tyrion Lannister. We feel that Tyrion, being the sensible chap that he is, would feel most at home with the iPhone 5s.
Small but mighty, the 4" retina display would be the right size for our favourite imp to be able to use easily, plus a biometric fingerprint scanner would make sure that only Tyrion would have access to his handset.
Paired with 64GB onboard storage the little phone would be more than capable of packing in enough secrets to make Varys go mad. The 64-bit CPU keeping things snappy, like our witty friend, there would be no worries about slowdown at those all important moments, and with Siri to talk to he can make use of the wealth of voice activated features available, as well as always have a woman by his side, well, sort of.
Moreover, he would never get into trouble with his mobile provider because "a Lannister always pays his cell phone debts."
Continuing with the Lannister household, we move on to the Queen Regent.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 seems to fit Cersei perfectly. With a 5.7" screen, super slim bezel surrounding a Super AMOLED display packing in 1080 x 1920 pixels, this Full HD display is certainly a thing of beauty - like Cersei Lannister.
And similarly to Cersei, this phone isn't just a pretty face, on the inside there is a 2.3GHz quad-core processor that is sure to keep ruling the handset market for years to come, 32 or 63GB storage.
With all of this screen real estate you can multitask all day long thanks to the 3200mAh battery, plus, with the fantastic functionality of the included S Pen (Sceptre?) this handset is a breeze to use despite its huge size.
So you can keep those Gold cloaks at work, the peasants in line, and oversee the realm with ease - Hear Me Roar!
Being a Khaleesi can be hard work. When ruling a Khalasar in a foreign land you'll need all the help that you can get. That's why we feel that the tough CAT B15 is perfect for Dany.
Built to the IP67 standard as well as MIL-STD-810G, this handset is protected from immersion in water of up to roughly three feet (1 meter) for up to one minute, and has complete protection from dust particles, exactly what you want when roaming around with your Khalasar.
However, please note that while the handset is shockproof, dust proof, and waterproof it might not be Dragon proof.
The handset is powered by a 2000mAh battery which will keep it running all day long, all the while running the latest apps and features that the Android 4.1 OS will allow.
The device's screen is made from tough Corning 'Gorilla Glass' and is 4.0" in size with a resolution of 800 x 480. The screen is capacitive multi-touch (with wet-finger tracking, useful!). What more could a Khaleesi ask for when trying to free the slaves of Astapor?
Being born an heir to Winterfell afforded Sansa all a high-born birth could, even the use of a high-end smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S5 (in Sweet Pink colour!).
This handset is packing the best hardware. A 2.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 2800mAh (removable) battery, and 16 or 32GB of memory.
As well as this a 5.1" Super AMOLED screen at 1080 x 1920 resolution makes sure that the display is always bright - this tech is more than enough to please a noble like Sansa Stark while she's kept locked in a luxury suite.
The handset is also rated at IP67, so is waterproof and dustproof - perfect for making daring escapes from King's Landing by boat.
Finishing off this first instalment of our Game of Phones blog posts, is Arya Stark. Little sister to Sansa, she also deserves one of the best handsets on the market.
Being smaller than her sister it only made sense to us that she use one of the smaller handsets on the market at the moment, the HTC One Mini (M7 variant).
The HTC One Mini is powered by a dual core Snapdragon 400 processor, has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and runs off an 1800mAh battery. The screen is a 4.3" Super LCD2 Gorilla Glass affair running at 720p.
The handset is castle forged from high grade aluminium and plastic, this cuts the weight down to 122g, so it'll be easy for our little lady to carry it around Westeros with the Hound.
This marks the end of the first half of our Game of Phones blog, expect more great characters and amazing handsets to be revealed in part two!
